Thoughts

The Blue whales have stopped singing. The Sperm
whales are gathering in pods as if the stress is frightening them When I was out on a Wild Dolphin Project trip I
observed 5 dolphin mothers with 5 calves. The mothers
were in synch mirroring each other and drifting in unison
to the surface to get a breath. In the meantime, the calves
were flying in all directions.
It occurred to me that it could have been 5 human
mothers on a bench and 5 children on monkey bars.
What does a mother, who has as big a brain for her
body as I do, think as she sees her calf’s environment
become a garbage can? The dolphin mother can do little
but pray the humans get a grip.
We have plastic in the ocean in masses, as big as a
state. We have micro plastic in our brains. We have too
many plastic things. I intend to make Basic Human
Survival Kits out of recovered plastic.
The pH and temperature of the ocean are changing.
The temperature of the ocean is getting hotter. It was in
the 80s when I was on The Wild Dolphin Project, last year
it was 99 at Key West.
Acid rain is making the ocean more acidic. The
denser the carbon dioxide gets in the atmosphere, the
more carbon dioxide goes into the ocean making acid.
We don’t know at what pH or how acidic the ocean
can get and the phytoplankton and blue green algae
